The Junior Women's Club of Fairfield was formed in 1965 for the general purpose of performing civic-minded projects promoted by the general membership. The Fairfield JWC is a member of Connecticut Junior Women, Inc., which has a membership of over 3,000 women.
Over the years, the Fairfield JWC has been credited with many noteworthy contributions to its community. The club has made donations totaling over $300,000 to projects and organizations throughout Fairfield, Fairfield County and the state of Connecticut. Please see the box at left for a list of some of the many recipients of these donations.
The Fairfield JWC has also been active in developing and supporting community programs such as: instituting the Safety Town Program; starting the Environmental Awareness Program; conducting story hour at both town libraries; awarding scholarships to any female graduate of any Fairfield high schools; sponsoring an annual Blood Drive; a townwide Spelling Bee for fifth-grade students; and many, many others.
The Fairfield JWC also offers many interest groups. Any woman interested in community involvement, no matter where her interests lie, can find it through the Fairfield Junior Women's Club.
