| JWC Scholarship Program |
Dozens of young women have benefitted from the Junior Women's Club of Fairfield's Scholarship program. The JWC has awarded $70,000 in scholarship monies since 1992. To qualify, students must have a GPA of 3.6 or higher, demonstrated financial need and a record of community service. In 2009, the JWC awarded $5,000 to three outstanding scholars. Here are the faces of this year's program: Kearney Erauda of Fairfield Warde High School was awarded a $1,500 scholarship. She plans to study economics at Smith College, with a minor in International Relations or Third World Studies. Maintaining a 4.2 GPA, Kearney's dream is to help developing nations as an economist for the United Nations or another non-profit. Margaret McQuone of Fairfield Warde High School was awarded a $1,000 scholarship. She plans to attend Fordham University with a goal to graduate with an MBA in Marketing and a BS in Accounting. Celine DaCosta of Fairfield Ludlowe High School was awarded a $2,500 scholarship. |
